One of the strongest arguments of the lobbyists for licenced wolf hunting in Sweden, is the amount of dogs, killed by wolves annually.
Here are statistics from Agria - Sweden´s largest insurance company, which insures around 70% of Swedish dogs:
Injured or dead dogs between years 2000-2005:
TRAFIC: 7252
STRAY BULLET: 135
PREDATORS: 78
OTHER WILD ANIMALS: 43
TOTAL: 7508
Note, that it doesn´t even specify how many dogs were killed by wolves, from all the predators.
