It was chaos - Recent wolf hunt in Sweden criticized for bad organization

Hunters were criticized for not only poor organisation, but also for overshooting the quota, and injuring many wolves, and killing them only after an extra tracking.

Over 12000 hunters were calling authorities and sending messages, to report how many wolves were shot and to find out how many are yet to be killed. In many areas was obviously no signal for cellular phones.

25 out of 27 allowed wovles were shot during the first two days of the licensed hunt.

Read the article below, from one of Sweden´s largest newspapers, the Aftonbladet.

And here is one of the first counts of wolves "down".
Published in Aftonbladet on January 4, 2010:

Gävleborgs county: 1 from allowed 3 wolves shot.
Dalarnas county: 10 wolves shot (one over the quota)
Örebro county: 2 of 3 wolves shot
Värmlands county: 9 of 9 shot
Västra Götaland: 3 of 3 wolves shot
